2013 Scholarship Winners
Below are the annual awarded scholarships and our 2013 recipients.
We are only able to do this through the generous support of the sponsors of our annual golf outing and other donations.
Arnson Family Scholarship – $5,000
Tracy Lawence, son of Van and Ruthann, graduated from Montague High School, where he served as the Senior Drum Major of the marching band. Tracy also has extension experience in local theatre productions. He has been admitted to the Honors College program at MSU, and intends to major in Microbiology, Biochemistry and Genetics.
Jim and Jeri Pedler Scholarship – $3,000
Courtney Goetz, daughter of Donna and Scott, graduated from Orchard View High School, where she served as Vice President of the Student Council. Courtney intends to major in Human Biology, while also obtaining her minor in Spanish at MSU. She has been admitted to the Honors College and looks forward to the many study abroad opportunities.
Merrill and Zona Bailey Scholarship – $2,000
Madeline Sesselmann, daughter of Jan and Mark, graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School, where she served as Student Council President and was active in both tennis and volleyball. She plans to major in Pre-Med, with the hope of eventually attending Michigan State’s College of Osteopathic Medicine to become a doctor.
MSU Alumni Club of the Muskegon Lakeshore Area Community Foundation Scholarship – $1,000
Lindsey Bramer, a graduate of Mona Shores High School, has been awarded a scholarship of $1,000 as she transfers from Muskegon Community College to MSU to pursue her degree. Her interests lie in the fine arts and language studies. She is the daughter of Todd and the late D’Anne, who continues to be an inspiration to Lindsey.
